PARTY WITH PURPOSE

CAMPAIGN: AIMEE & JOE'S CHARITY WEDDING REGISTRY

Aimee has gone beyond her scope when it comes to her love and responsibilities for Covenant House Pennsylvania. Working as the Clinical Coordinator, it is not in her job description to help fund the program. However, when it came time for Aimee’s wedding, she asked that her guests make a contribution to Covenant House in lieu of gifts. “In our minds, the purpose of a wedding registry is to provide a newly-married couple with all of the things they would need to create a household for the first time.  We, however, already have those things”. Aimee’s guests delightfully gifted to Covenant House Pennsylvania, helping the program stay open. “We strive to live simply, we have all of the material possessions that we need, and we believe that there are more meaningful ways to spend money”. Thank you for your dedication, Aimee!

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

CAMPAIGN: DARIUS DEHAAS' 30 DAY YOGA CHALLENGE

Darius believes that everyone deserves the right to feel protected and loved, which is why he values Covenant House. In solidarity with the many youth who have had the courage to come through Covenant House’s doors, he created a 30 Day Challenge that tested his mental and physical strength, as well as his fundraising ability. For 30 consecutive days, Darius attended a 90 minute hot yoga (Bikram) class, even when traveling and including two days when he served on jury duty! He asked his network of friends to donate one dollar per day (or $30 in total) in support of his Yoga Challenge and in honor of the first 30 days of Crisis Care for a homeless teen.

MEANINGFUL MILESTONES

CAMPAIGN: CHARLIE'S 40TH BIRTHDAY GALA

When Charlie started planning her 40th birthday party, she reflected back on her own childhood and the many milestones she was unable to celebrate growing up in poverty.  She knew she wanted to do something meaningful to help youth in need, but what? The Mexican-American, wife, mom of three, and the CEO and Creative Director of Synergixx, LLC in Sewell, NJ, decided to throw herself a traditional Mexican coming of age party, the one she missed at age 15. Charlie and more than 200 of her closest friends celebrated at the Landmark Lowes Philadelphia Hotel, her "Cinderella’s Noche Latina Quadentraceñera." The invitation called it a “Fund Youth Opportunity” asking guests to make donations in lieu to gifts. The evening not only raised $4,000 for Covenant House Pennsylvania, but was also a dream come true for this self-made creative genius.
